Recently, I’ve been spending a good bit of time with go-go guru Max Kidd. Mizax and the Flizaps “Test Me” is one example of a plethora of forgotten works that a younger Maxx chose to involve himself in, long before go-go was just a way to refer to a local night club.

DJ Day just released his 2nd LP, Land of 1000 Chances, and hot damn it’s an beautiful piece of work. Constructed from samples and live musicians deep in the California desert, the entire record drips with melancholic soul.  Great for the headphones, gloomy winter days in the living room, or late-night country drives.
