Inspired by venerable hip-hop radio station Hot97 (and featuring Popcaan and Young Thug), Jamie XX’s “I Know There’s Gonna Be (Good Times)” aspires to a spot on their playlist this summer.
I’ve posted a lot of music by Jamaican dancehall artist Popcaan lately. “Love Yuh Bad” is (another) catchy tune for the club and is the second single off the album.
“Everything is Nice,” the lead single from Popcaan’s debut album, Where We Come From, has become something of a ghetto anthem in Kingston, touching on struggles and triumphs of everyday Jamaican life. A working man’s feel-good anthem.
I know I’ve posted another tune on the DreSkull produced Loudspeaker riddim, but I can’t stop watching this video. Popcaan is at the top of the dancehall game right now and DreSkull just can’t be stopped. This one isn’t that new anymore, but it just won’t quit.
