Disco Syndicate got a hold of the multitracks of “Take On Me,” the 1985 breakout hit for Norwegian pop trio a-ha, and give it an lengthy refresh, reinventing the intro with some drama (akin to their follow-up hit, “The Sun Always Shines on TV”) and then extending those crisp drums and whirling keyboard hooks.

Possessing a an unassailable knack for the tasteful disco re-edit, Disco Syndicate have been on my ‘follow’ list for a while now. A recent effort is a reworking of Curtis Mayfield’s “Give Me Your Love (Love Song)” from the stone-classic Superfly soundtrack into a smooth disco mover, perfect for beating the heat poolside.
