Fred Wesley and the New J.B.’s “Breakin’ Bread” is perhaps my favorite holiday/family-related funk jam. This song is all about family and food and James Brown’s rhythm section just does not let up the groove.

I guess I’m feel nostalgic, but Del tha Funkee Homosapien was a favorite back in my youth. “Why Ya Want to Get Funkee” sounds just as good today as it did back in the day!
