Yesterday Elvis Presley would have turned 80 years old. I coincidentally pulled this 1997 Sol Brothers 12″ single off the shelf, put it on the turntable, and reveled in its late-90s big beat brilliance.

Tamara Wellons

Tamara Wellons’ new single “Behind the Veil” is as uplifting as it is musically sophisticated, and the video treatment really shows the warmth of her personality.

North London producers Kye “Foamo” Gibbon and Matt “RackNRuin” Robson-Scott, better known as Gorgon City, started things off hot with their hit single, “Ready For Love” featuring MNEK. After months of releases and remixes, their debut LP, Sirens is finally out. “Here For You” is another standout.

Most folks that follow dance music these days probably recognize the bass riff and synth line from “What I Like” by Anthony and the Camp. But the OG is where it is at for me.

Some nasty Italian acid jazz funk for you. “Say It Again” borrows heavily from the gut funk of “Good Good Feeling” by War and lays it on with vocals by none other than CeCe Rogers, psychedelic guitar riffs and live instrumentation that keeps it loose and oh so funky.
