I was listening to Pandora the other day and “Morse” by Nightmares On Wax came on. I had completely forgotten about this song; it was released in 1999 and is downtempo at its finest. This song leads with a steady but slightly funky baseline, vocals that sink into the music and simple guitar all layered on one by one. Nightmares On Wax does a great job building this song up in a really simple way and then bringing it back down. If you’ve never heard this song please give it a listen, it really is one of the greatest in the genre.
