Here’s a dance floor edit I did of “African Woman,” off of Ebo Taylor’s 2010 LP “Love and Death.” Ebo Taylor was a kingpin of the Ghanaian afro funk/ high life / afro beat scene in the 1970s. His legendary tunes helped fuel the rediscovery of that music by European beat diggers and record labels and, ultimately, got Mr. Taylor a new record deal of his own. I can’t say he’s achieved his former glory with his new output, but he has churned out some tasty grooves and (hopefully) received a decent paycheck in process. I tried to keep the original song mostly intact, but added a new bass line and lots of drums and percussion for the dance floor. Free download to boot!
