Song of the Day: Nebraska “Patina”

The British artist Alistair Gibbs aka Nebraska comes correct with the dance floor killer “Patina” from his 2011 album Displacement on Rush Hour Records out of Holland. “Patina” is most remarkable in it’s jarring yet fluid structure—not a combination you often find in dance music. If you don’t know the record it makes no sense until the high hats and 808 claps come in, but once they do it turns into a driving monster of a track that ebbs and flows, increasing and decreasing the energy level as it makes it way across six and half minutes of dance floor joy.
