Born and raised in the DMV, Geena Marie began her journey into sound in 2014. Geena has since DJed all over the DC metro area and in LA.

DJ Geena Marie is an electronic and open format DJ with a focus on R&B, house, hip-hop, and disco. With over a decade of experience in the DC creative scene and as a DJ, she has successfully held residencies at various clubs and bars throughout the DC area. Geena Marie has built a strong network and established relationships with venues and other creatives in the city, making her a reputable source for fresh sounds and memorable experiences.

As a bi-racial, queer couple with a hearty age gap and one of us having lived abroad for many years, our crowd spanned lots of categories and therefore music tastes. Geena Marie hit them all, not with the cheesy icons of each genre, but with the ‘ahh, man. Yes! THIS one!’  My wife described my mother and her best friend from college as ‘getting their lives back!’ with those song picks. Also, a few folks in our wedding party are professional musicians. One might suspect they’d be hard to please musically and that might be right, but they (and everyone else) were raving about the music.”
