Song of the Day: Jimi Needles “Driving Home for Xmas”

In a seemingly endless sea of cringeworthy holiday fare, I’ve always got an ear open for genuine gems. London-based DJ/Turntablist/Producer Jimi Needles just released (via his Jimi Needles VIP Page) this reworking of British singer-songwriter Chris Rea’s 1984 holiday single, “Driving Home For Christmas” as “Driving Home for Xmas.” Tempering the smooth AOR sound of the often-compiled holiday staple with a fat drum break, this is a [more] suitably enjoyable holiday head nodder.
