The Black Eyed Peas started out as a respectable rap group, turning out albums of inventive alternative hip-hop. The throwback vibe of the “Joints & Jam” single from their 1998 debut album Behind the Front gets an updating from Navy Shade, bringing the song right up to the present day.


“UK Funky” was the last stage in the rapid evolution of British progressive electronic music, from jungle to broken beat to 2-step garage, and then “funky house.” DVA‘s “Just Vybe” from 2010 will be considered one of those landmark songs that transcends genre and time period.
