Here’s a May Day special from the late country and gospel star Tennessee Ernie Ford, “16 Tons.” The song was first recorded in 1946 by Merle Travis, but Ford had a number one hit with it in 1955 and will forever be associated with it.

Emily and Chester’s friends and family gathered at the DAR headquarters for a fabulous celebration of their love. After a beautiful indoor ceremony and dinner, accompanied by a variety of live musicians, guests gathered on the portico to dance. They came prepared and the party went strong all night long!
