Song of the Day: Crusaders “My Lady (Daigo Re-Bake)”

For today’s Song of the Day, I’ve decided to go with something a little bit different than the mainly vocal tracks that I’ve posted in the past. The Crusaders “My Lady (Daigo Re-Bake)” is a jazzy little instrumental remix of a classic from their 1979 album, Street Life.

a classy remix for the lounge and the dance floor

DJ Daigo always seems to rework classic tunes in a way that pleases me. This time he drops a classy remix that could work in a lounge as well as on a dance floor. On his Soundcloud profile there was some nice back story on how he found the inspiration for this remix. Apparently when he was growing up he tended to listen to a lot of House music from a friends CD collection and one of his favorite selectors was Derrick Carter. One track that he found while listening that was a real classic for him was Cricco Castelli’s “Life Is Changing”. This is DJ Daigo’s take on what is one of his most classic House tunes and really stands the test of time. I really like this choice and his tasteful take on the tune.

DJ Daigo is a producer from Sydney, Australia. He is known for his fun party rocking mash up style edits and Re-Bake’s as he dubbed his special brand of remix. He likes to mash up and blend tracks that he has always loved and revered but with his own beats and other samples and bits mixed together by his own twisted ideology.
