Song of the Day: Blackstreet “No Diggity (Beat Fatigue Remix)”

Here we go again. Another remix of Blackstreet’s “No Diggity”. This is another one of those tunes that I seem have endless remixes of. Even though I have plenty of nice versions I play, I still seem to add 2 or 3 remixes or covers into my collection every year. Usually I skip or listen with extreme prejudice when I see a song that I have so many remixes of, but Beat Fatigue really does a nice job of making a new take on this that breathes some new life and fun into this classic.

Beat Fatigue is a 25 year old producer, DJ and guitarist from Amsterdam. He was ten years old when he first picked up a guitar. Inspired by his heroes such as Stevie Ray Vaughan and John Scofield, he just kept on making music in any form possible. This is very evident when you listen to his music and remixes. I think that’s one of the reasons why this one made it into my play list with as many other remixes I have of No Diggity. Musically, it’s a really complementing, fresh take on a dance floor classic.

This is a great tune for me as it will be one that I’ll play at regular club gigs (as well as weddings where appropriate). This tune is instantly recognizable and a true party jam that will get the dance floor going and many types of events.
