There were a lot of “Free Mandela” reggae tunes leading up to Nelson Mandela’s release from prison in 1990. This digital roots burner from Yami Bolo is probably my favorite (although I still need to find it on 12″ for that extended dub).

Heavy, dubby, synthy… “Free Mandela” is 80’s reggae at it’s best and a great tribute to one of the most inspiring freedom fighters of all time. As his health deteriorates, tunes like this remind us of the incredible life he’s lived!
