The XX managed to take duets to a new level with “Crystalised,” off their amazing 2009 debut album. Starting off at a whisper, the back and forth between Oliver Sim and Romy Madley Croft is very sexy and slow. A very subtle build up and melodic guitar are what makes this song amazing. They continue with this rhythm for the rest of the song with changes in rhythm and volume. With new music in the works and North American tour dates just announced, I can’t wait to see and hear what they come up with next.
