This past weekend I had the pleasure of locating a large number of local DC area records that I’d been after, but at the end of the day, a non-DC 45 by The Overtones was what really caught my attention. The single was released on the Hip City label in Wilmington, Delaware, and both sides are truly special. My personal favorite is the A-side, “What Would I Do,” a wonderfully orchestrated love song centered on how no other girl could take the place of the vocalist’s. A common theme, for sure, but just take a listen.
