In honor of the current election campaign I’ve decided to bring out his old chestnut from Robyn Hitchcock.

I first heard this track on a friend’s radio show on WRFG in Atlanta back in the late 80’s and was blown away immediately. I love the lyrics, the imagery, the music everything. Hitchcock is one of the quirkiest English rockers around but this particular song is one of his more straight forward. I love the fact that it references Ronald Reagan’s ill advised visit to Bitburg, Germany. It’s from the highly recommended album Element of Light. Also recommended are any of his Soft Boys LP’s. Thank God for quirky Englishmen!
