Gladys Knight needs little introduction so I’ll cut to the chase: this is easily among my top 5 favorite songs of all time. The original LP version of “It’s a Better than Good Time” is great, but Walter Gibbons took the song to another level with his famous remix that was only available on this promo-only Canadian release. It’s been reissued on CD in recent years along with many of Walter’s best works, which is definitely worth picking up for disco fans. It’s all about how Walter waits till over two minutes in to let the bass kick in; just one of those magical moments in music for me.
