Donald Byrd’s Places and Spaces album just reminds me of spring (which has finally arrived here in DC). The title track of what is, in my opinion, his best LP (and one of my favorites ever) is the epitome of jazz-funk with disco, soul, and R&B overtones. Blast it on your next road trip with the windows down and the sun shining. Warm and groovy.
