It has been a couple of years since Dan Snaith—aka Caribou—has released an album. Snaith has been pretty consistent in that he averages about two years of down time in between full length releases. His upcoming album, Our Love, is slated for release sometime in October. The lead single of the same name, “Our Love,” is by far his most accessible to date. With multiple iterations of the title phrase looping throughout, the driving bass heavy pseudo-garage stomper can work equally well in a club and in headphones. The MDMA-infused euphoric chords, synth stabs and strings are celebratory, like the love one feels during the peak hours of a memorable night out. The mantra-like instrumentation and exclamation of “our love!” makes one think that it may never end, but then the lights come on and the euphoria ends abruptly.
