Song of the Day: Ageless “The First Time”

Ageless—aka New York native Wes Paioff—is back with a brand new EP of sample-heavy electro funk, Fortified, on the Philos Records label and creative collective. Lead track “The First Time” is a mid-tempo head nodder riding on a reggae rhythm guitar and a lovely flute and vocal line, with enough phased beats and bass to keep your face scrunched. Very nice.

For this 4-track EP I spent countless hours tweaking every little noise and note to create a sound deeply rooted in classic funk, with elements of 90’s hip-hop and hard hitting bass. Shout out to @800lbgorilla on the dope cover art.
