Sarah and Braden’s Carlyle Club Wedding

Having played the Carlyle Club a few times in the past I was excited to check out the updated club for Sarah and Braden’s wedding. While they have dramatically reduced the sound system, I find it to be much more appropriate for the smaller size of the club. The staff there is wonderful and I was working with Megan from Events in the City, so the whole event was top notch.

As the guests came in I played a fun indie rock infused soundtrack with songs like Fun “We Are Young” and Neon Trees “Animal”. The entry way was set up with an awesome candy bar and everyone was being served drinks in the bar area. We then invited everyone into the ballroom, and soon I was introducing the bridal party into the room. Sarah and Braden danced to Train “Marry Me”, and then the father’s of the bride and groom both said a nice welcome. I then played a chiller set of music for dinner while people ate.

We then broke for some toasts by the best man and maid of honor, and parent dances and then straight into the cake cutting so that we could get the dance-floor going. I played a set of wedding classics with Neil Diamond’s “Sweet Caroline” really killing it for this group. I was told ahead of time that there was a special dance for Tag Team’s “Whoop There it Is”, so we had Sarah and Braden up on the stage busting out the moves for the whole song, it was pretty amazing.

It was time for the bouquet toss and garter toss which both went off without a hitch to Tom Jones “You Can Leave Your Hat On”. We then had time for a short hip-hop set, so quickly I mixed through the hip-hop list they gave me, ending the night with Outkast’s “Hey Ya”, which is always a fun upbeat song.
