Without the original master tapes for Convertion’s 1980 disco classic “Let’s Do It”, Master At WorkLouie Vega redid the whole thing, complete with original member Leroy Burgess on vocals!
One of my favorite dancehall vocalists, Pinchers, has been active since the mid-80s. “Lift it Up Again,” on the Answer riddim, is one of his early and very best hits where he flexes his unique vocal style. So good!
These dudes (and ladies) can rap and rap and rap some more. Funky Four Plus One More’s “Rappin and Rocking the House” is one of my very favorites from the disco rap genre.
