The standout track of my new Madchester Monday night was Paul Oakenfold‘s remix of “W.F.L. (Wrote For Luck)” by the Happy Mondays (re-titled “W.F.L. (Think About The Future Mix)”).
The Happy Mondays (from Manchester) emerged in the late 80’s to become on the UK’s biggest bands in the early 90’s. They found the perfect mix of dance and rock in “Step On.”
Opening in the UK May 30th, the new Stone Roses documentary, The Stone Roses: Made of Stone, tells the story behind their triumphant 2012 reunion gig at Heaton Park, with plenty of backstory about the band and their rise to the top 1988-1994.
