Song Of The Day: Trackademicks “The Best, No Less”

Summer’s almost here, which means I’m freshening up my crates with breezy, warm treats suitable for outdoor sets. This slick Anita Baker flip by Bay area beatsmith Trackademicks has been getting constant run in my lab and in my sets as of late.

Trackademicks takes a small chop of vocal and chords from Baker’s “Giving You The Best That I Got”, layers it with some synth and strings, gives it a nice uptempo bop and a cut time trap breakdown. Viiiiibes.
