Song of the Day: Tuxedo “The Right Time (Kaytranada Remix)”

The self-titled Stones Throw debut from Tuxedo has been on heavy rotation in my household. Tuxedo is a collaboration between Meyer Hawthorne and Jake One that—much like kindred spirits Chromeo—conjures up the best of early 80s boogie and electro funk. And when I heard Toronto-based house producer Kaytranada had been commissioned to do a remix of second single “The Right Time” I was definitely excited. The resulting remix is really fun and fresh; I love the drums and the way everything just snaps together.

Tuxedo bring their favorite records from their era of choice to U Street Music Hall on Friday, July 17th for a DJ set.
