UK producer The Reflex has applied his rework magic to the perennially zoot-suited Kid Creole and the Coconuts’ 1984 single “My Male Curiosity” for his Coconut Jams EP, out September 9th on re-edit label Basic Fingers Records. In the hands of The Reflex, the tropical pop-swing of the original is transformed into a latin-flavored disco boogie gem. My money is on the dub side, with its heavier beats and minimal “curiosity” vocal snippets.
