I just received an advance copy of the upcoming Numero Group compilation, Eccentric Soul: A Red Black Green Production, which, in addition to great tunes, features excellent liner notes and photos for people interested in that sort of thing. The idea behind the comp. was discussed in a previous post of mine, so this time I’ll focus solely on a particular track.

Skip Mahoaney, born Harrison Hoaney, was the leader of the DC group, The Casuals. Eventually recording under the name Skip Mahoaney & The Casuals, the group cut 2 LPs and some singles. The earliest of those recordings were released first as an LP entitled Your Funny Moods, on the DC International record label. The featured song, “We Share Love,” came from this LP, and it’s an emotionally charged trip into the realm of lost love and abandonment.
