Song of the Day: Nik Kershaw “Wouldn’t It Be Good”

Nik Kershaw had a busy year in 1984. The former jazz guitarist had transformed himself into an English teen idol, spending 50 weeks on the UK singles chart.

“Wouldn’t it Be Good” was the only single to land stateside and peg him as a one-hit wonder in the U.S. The tune was so catchy and the video groundbreaking for it’s time, featuring Kershaw in a good guy/bad guy chase, wearing a blue-screen suit with various images projected throughout. After his charting days Nik went on to write hits for others including a number one for Chesney Hawkes.
