Song of the Day: Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds “Fifteen Feet of Pure White Snow”

For quite obvious reasons (just look out your window), the Song of the Day is “Fifteen Feet of Pure White Snow” by Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds. From the beautiful and highly recommended No More Shall We Part album, “Fifteen Feet of Pure White Snow” is a vignette of desperation, worry, and isolation.
“Is anybody
Out there please?
It’s too quiet in here
And I’m beginning to freeze
I’ve got icicles hanging
From my knees
Under fifteen feet of pure white snow

Is there anybody here who feels this low?
Under fifteen feet of pure white snow”

Like the rest of the album, the song has a cinematic sweep and an impassioned performance, though, that renders at its heart a survivor’s hope.
