Butch Walker is a bit of a chameleon. Not many artists can go from 80’s glam (Southgang) to 90’s modern rock (Marvelous 3), only to end up as a successful and relevant pop writer and producer today. One of the best representations of his songwriting skills came in the form of a single, “Freak of the Week” from Marvelous 3‘s second effort, Hey! Album. This would be the band’s closest thing to big success (charting at #23 on the Mainstream Rock Tracks) but also highlights the diverse talents of Butch Walker and what would later follow into his successful career.
