Song of the Day: Manic Street Preachers “Motorcycle Emptiness”

In 1992, Manic Street Preachers released their debut album Generation Terrorists. But it was the fifth single from the album, “Motorcycle Emptiness”, that ultimately caught my attention, sealed the deal, and made me a true fan of the band. The song’s criticism of capitalism and consumerism is as scathing as any of the punk songs I love which contain a similar theme, and James Dean Bradfield’s delivery is equally as aggressive and heartfelt.

The Manics are currently touring, supporting the 20th anniversary of their extraordinary third album, The Holy Bible.
