Song of the Day: Lindsay Lowend “Wind Fish”

Lindsay Lowend - Wind Fish EP

Twenty-year old Maryland native, Tony Mendez, aka Lindsay Lowend had been making waves locally and worldwide for over a year now. Last week, he released his debut EP, “Wind Fish” on Kastle’s label Symbols Recordings. Lindsay Lowend‘s distinctive synth-heavy style, mixes in a true love for late 70’s to early 80’s r&b, peppered in with many chiptune video game synths, and often with chopped and pitched vocals. Each of his songs are a sonic tour de force across styles, genres and sometimes even time, as he playfully messes with time signatures and beats per minute. The title track, “Wind Fish” is no exception. The synth work is phenomenal and I imagine this is what video game music would sound like on heavy a.d.d. medication. Check out his entire EP on Soundcloud. In the meantime, check out his title track, “Wind Fish” right here.
