Kokayi has long been one of my favorite artists. From his mastery of hip-hop and jazz improvisation to his prolific production, he’s one to always push for the unexpected.

Kokayi’s 2014 magnum opus was his Track A Day project. His goal was to create and release a new tune for every day of 2014. As the year progressed, the tracks accrued on his Soundcloud page until he did in fact achieve 365 daily compositions.

He ended his feat of creativity and discipline with “Part Of It,” an alt rock tune that I could imagine popping up on a future Citizen Cope record.
