Here is another taste of modern African music: straight outta Ghana, “My Lady” by Jay Ghartey was a smash a few years ago (first in Ghana, then throughout English-speaking West Africa). It’s undeniably an R&B pop song, but at the same time unmistakably African. And really, it’s just so damn catchy, it should have been an  international hit.  Works on any dancefloor and folks ALWAYS ask what it is when I drop it. Really nice video to boot, that shows you how folks get down in Accra.
