Chance the Rapper is the coolest rapper to come out of Chicago since Common, Kanye or Lupe and his band is Donnie Trumpet & The Social Experiment. Barely into his 20’s, he’s already made a huge splash in the game but instead of riding a rising wave of success by feeding the public’s voracious appetite for trap anthems he dropped an expansively soulful opus where he steps from frontman to sideman in a joyous collaboration that goes way beyond the rap category. The result is one of the most fun albums of 2015.

On “Slip Slide” some of the collective’s famous friends include Busta Rhymes and Janelle Monae romping over beats and brass.
