Song of the Day: Don Omar ft Lucenzo “Danza Kuduro”

I love how genres from around the world are no longer specific to their home countries. Rhythms, production styles, instruments and sounds are truly globalized. Language doesn’t even matter anymore. A hit in Nigeria might turn into a smash across the continent or even the world. Don Omar ft. Lucenzo “Danza Kuduro” is a great example of this phenomenon. Omar, famous for his reggaeton hits out of Puerto Rico released this dancefloor bomb with Lucenzo (who is based in France but of Portuguese origin) in 2010. The song is mostly in Spanish, with some Portuguese and is essentially a Kuduro track (dance genre created in Angola). But all that aside, it is just a great party pop song that sets dance floors ablaze across the globe.
