Song of the Day: Chisel “Out For Kicks”

Chisel performing

DC had a thriving 90s music scene

Here is one good song from an entirely solid album, 8 AM All Day by Chisel. “Out For Kicks” is an artifact of the mid-90s, when musicians and bands from all over the country moved to DC to take part in a thriving music scene and avail themselves of cheap group house rents. With their sharp Mod stylings, Chisel went against the prevailing trends but the GS150 ran out of petrol in 1997. With The Pharmacists, guitarist Ted Leo continues creating catchy and provocative music to wide appreciation, but I have a soft spot for the old stuff.
