Downtempo guru and longtime Ninja Tune recording artist Simon Green—aka Bonobo—has just released “Cirrus,” the first single off his new full-length album, The North Borders (available April 1st from Ninja Tune). Reliably groovy and melodic, with beats tempered by a mellow edge, “Cirrus” is accompanied by a gorgeously trippy video, where commercial archival footage of a bright and cheerful 1950s America is time-stretched and duplicated into fantastical clockwork shapes. Mad Men meets M.C. Escher.
