Alex Suchon, aka Bok Bok (and founder of the label, Night Slugs) has released a broken beat, 80’s funk and boogie influenced track called “Howard” in anticipation of his upcoming EP, Your Charizmatic Self (out May 26). The track’s glitchy start-stop nature accentuates the synth and bass stabs to great effect. The vibe is everything I dig about that era’s production approach and Bok Bok deftly harkens back to the sound while still sounding fresh and modern. Check it out here:
