Here’s another one from the Jalapeno Funk Vol. 4 compilation recently released by Jalapeno Records, courtesy other long time favorites Basement Freaks. Always reliable, always on-point, Basement Freaks—the nom de beats of George Fotiadis— have come through with a solid mid-tempo dance floor gem.
What sounds like a sampling (?) of the guitar lead from Stu Phillips’ Knight Rider theme over a tough, compressed breakbeat and fat synth bass provides a long-simmering intro to a party-starting collection of disparate vocal samples, including diva wailing, ragga toasting and a classic Funkadelic snippet. Nicely done, George!
