Song of the Day: Sol Power All-Stars feat. Kenny Wesley “Don’t You Let Go” (DJ Spinna Galactic Soul Remix)

This year Sol Power All-Stars had a string of releases and will be closing out 2019 with the 9th project on our own imprint. The title of the Special Features EP conveys our excitement with the collaborators that contributed.

Washington, DC vocalist Kenny Wesley has an extensive career in jazz, soul and pop as well as university level music instruction, so it’s pretty cool that our project is his first foray into dance music. Wesley delivers a perfectly soulful vocal that’s right in the sweet spot for deep house heads.

On remixing duties we pulled in DJ Spinna and Caserta who each turned in great reworks of an original we were already proud of.

We highlight Spinna’s take here, as he’s been a huge influence on our DJ’ing as well as our production. Personally, he’s the most significant model I’ve tried to follow in my own career of spinning records as well as making them. To have a Galactic Soul remix on one of our releases is a badge of honor. He added a darker edge to a bright tune which gives the whole project more utility for DJs as each version works in a different lane.
