Single of the Week: The Gaslamp Killer & Amir Yaghmai “Nissim”
To mark the 10th anniversary of The Gaslamp Killer’s full-length debut Breakthrough on Brainfeeder Records, the DJ/producer has issued standout track, “Nissim,” in a deluxe 7″ format. Featuring Amir Yaghmai on guitar and yiali tambur, “Nissim” (named after Gaslamp’s late grandfather, who grew up in Istanbul) takes vintage Turkish psychedelia into dark, hypnotic territory. Now ten years old, the track exists in a time and space of its own (including playing on Worldwide FM radio in Grand Theft Auto V).
Newly remastered and housed in a full-color illustrated sleeve by Alejandro Sordi, “Nissim” is available in two 70g vinyl colorways on his own Cuss Records imprint: deep purple and cyan or kelly green and white.
