IMG_3531The rumors are true… I had retired from the wedding circuit. Not for any bad reasons mind you. I have embarked on a new adventure job-wise and am throwing myself into it full force.

But my name is out there amongst friends, family, colleagues in the industry and previous clients. The phone would ring and I would decline yet another offer. That was until Rachel and Marc called about their Sunday morning wedding at The Comus Inn.

They were a bit more persistent than others and perhaps I had been worn down. But meeting with them sealed the deal on my end. I had DJed Marc’s brother’s wedding the year before and I remembered it being laid back and fun and so I welcomed the opportunity to do it again.

IMG_3535It was a lovely morning. The rustic scenery at the Comus Inn popped under the blue sky. It had been a while since I had seen a bride and groom, but my memory must have faded because Rachel and Marc looked straight out of a fairy tale.

The guests enjoyed cocktails to the sounds on Ray LaMontagne, Zac Brown Band and Michael Buble while nibbling on crackers topped with salmon mousse and blueberry french toast skewers. The bride party was introduced to ZZ Top’s “Give Me All Your Loving.” After the applause subsided the newly weds shared their first dance as man and wife to “Only You Can Love Me This Way” by Keith Urban. There was a special treat when Aunt Jennifer and her friend Steven performed The Beatles “Until There Was You.”

Dance time was a lot of fun as I dusted off some of my old favorites mixed with some of Rachel and Marc’s choices including a specially-requested jump medley, including House Of Pain, Kriss Kross, The Sugar Hill Gang and Van Halen. The morning was capped off with Journey’s classic “Faithfully.” Everybody had a good time and I was so pleased to be a part of the special day.
