ESL & Marvin Bring It Poolside This Summer

The stellar management behind Eighteenth Street Lounge and Marvin is taking over the summer pool parties at the Capitol Skyline Hotel. BYT had run a series of very popular (hyped everywhere) and very silly (inflatables, junk food eating contests) pool parties at the giant outdoor pool for the last two years. [I imagine their 10,000 sq. ft. art & music extravaganza Vitamin Water Uncapped Live is keeping them really busy all summer long. But who knows, with their vigorous ‘anything goes’ party approach, maybe BYT will wind up doing something at Kings Dominion…]

Now the tiki torch has been passed to the new team, led by that beloved and dapper man-about-town Sheldon Scott, who is aiming for a renewed focus on the music—the summer party has been [re]named Dub Splash—and more sophisticated lounging, complete with a custom cocktail menu. “More of a ‘Miami South Beach’ vibe,” according to Fritz Hahn’s Going Out Gurus blog post.

Performances from ESL Music artists Thunderball, Ursula 1000, and Frank Mitchell Jr. are scheduled, along with a larger [moving to the adjacent parking lot] live performance from Thievery Corporation.

The hotel’s modernist architecture and moddish interior design are a perfect match for ESL’s retro-sophisticated visual aesthetic.
