DJ D-Mac is the wedding DJ for people who hate typical wedding DJs! You won't hear any YMCA or Macarena out of this guy, and you won't be seeing any fog machines or tacky light displays, either. Just an amazing music set that you help create by giving him a list of the songs that you want to hear, and songs that you do NOT want to hear. D-Mac played tons of our requested oddball indie rock songs, and mixed it up with a great mix of old soul, jazz, and even modern songs that everyone loves. We can't recommend him enough. Seriously. We can't count how many people have come up to us and said how amazing he was!

We had seen DJ DMac at an event several years ago, and he was the first vendor we called once we had our wedding date set. It was the best decision we ever made, because his music really set the tone for our entire event and made the night. He met with us in person a month or so before the event to get a sense of the vibe and type of music we wanted, and he hit it out of the park. He created custom edits of songs for our ceremony and dances, and he kept the dance floor jumping until the very last song. He really went above and beyond our expectations, which already were quite high. We heard nothing but raves from our guests--many, many people said it was the best DJ they had EVER heard at a wedding. We agree!!

DJ D-Mac (Daryle) was absolutely wonderful to work with! When we were first looking for a DJ for our wedding everyone we came across on the internet seemed cheesy, but then we found Daryle. We met with him and he was the complete opposite. Daryle is not a typical wedding DJ. He is a real DJ that plays both in clubs in DC and private events.

He has a great knowledge of different types of music and really knows how to get keep the dance floor full. And any music he doesn't have he can download on the fly. So many of our guests commented on how great the music was! Daryle did a great job and he did it with style - his use of turntables, the music mixes, and his personality. He really knows what he is doing. Daryle even helped edit down our first dance song and the mother dance song because they were quite long. He did an amazing job and we really felt that was going above and beyond!

Overall we were very VERY happy with Daryle. We told him general types of music we liked and left it up to him to pick what to play (except for our first dance, father/daughter, mother/son, last dance songs). Daryle also gave us a lot of good advice about how things during the evening would flow.

I definitely recommend DJ D-Mac if you are looking for a cool DJ that really knows how to keep things exciting and fun!

My husband and I were referred to DJ D-Mac by more than one friend of ours, so we naturally went in with high expectations. From our first conversation, he followed up promptly and provided so many helpful ideas that we felt like we were getting special service for free! But that's exactly what our friends told us we could expect. The day of was a breeze, he was early, organized and most importantly put on an AMAZING show. He custom mixed our first dance and was able to balance our old favorites with dance music and somehow making it all flow perfectly. If you want dancing at your wedding from DJ who truly has what it takes, you can stop searching, you've found the best one.

DJ D-Mac made our reception night! He kept the energy alive and kept things running smoothly. We received several compliments on music selection and the overall ambiance. Daryle was easy to work with...he helped us in our selections of songs and was able to cut out parts of our first dance song to help it flow with our correographed dance. At the end of the night when our time at the venue had expired, the guests were begging him to keep playing! We highly recommend DJ D- Mac for anyone planning an event where they want people dancing and having fun.

BEST DJ EVER....
I was very hesitant about having a DJ at my wedding because I've always envisioned having a band. The venue we chose, however, had kind of low ceilings and I was concerned that a live band would drown out conversations and just be too overwhelming. So, I went in search of a "cool" DJ. I wanted someone who I could trust to keep the party rolling without any cheesy commentary or limbo-ish games.... and I found DJ D-Mac (Daryle). He works clubs in DC as well as a lot of private events and he has a very cool style. He does a lot of mixing, and he keeps the dance floor full. He is awesome and fantastic to work with. I can't say enough great things about him. I had friends at my wedding from Baltimore, DC, NYC, Nashville, etc. and everyone thought he was fabulous. SAY "NO" to cheesy DJs! DJ D-Mac has converted this new bride into a DJ-believer!

DJ D-Mac kept the dance floor full ALL NIGHT! All of our guests had a great time--thanks in large part to Daryle's musical talent. Even the old style mic he had for the toasts was really cool--can't wait to see those pics!
He was super cool in playing the few specific requests we wanted and even came to the rescue when I wanted a special Star Wars-ish dance song for my new stepson. What a HIT! But I didn't need to suggest much of anything, and this was one of the reasons we liked him so much--DJ D-Mac KNOWS what to play and how to mix it up...It just flows.
Highly recommend DJ D-Mac if you want a fun and lively party reception (for ALL ages to get into!)...I promise the dance floor will not empty!

I have never seen a dance floor so packed! Daryle really did his thing and the crowd absolutely loved it. The musical selections were great and the way Daryle mixed them was fantastic. Now that the honeymoon is over (so sad!) and things are settling down, I just wanted to take a moment to say THANK YOU for for being the life of the party at the wedding. I had no doubt you would rock the house and you definitely did. Loved the mix of old and new. Also thanks for putting up with the requests all night. My only complaint is that the bottom of my dress is officially ruined from dancing so much! But, I guess that's really not a complaint now is it? Dancing all night is exactly what I wanted to do.

Daryle was quite possibly the best part of our wedding (well, other than actually getting married)! He is not just a DJ, but a true artist. He got people up and dancing, who I've never seen dance. The way he streamlined music, and his selections were incredible. He gauged the audience and fed off their vibes. Now months later, people are still talking about the fantastic DJ we had. Our wedding was supposed to end at 10:30PM, but did not end until 12:15AM because our guests kept on screaming "ONE MORE SONG, TWO MORE SONGS." He is a true artist and understands the needs and wants of a group of party-goers. I would have him DJ my life, but alas, that soundtrack is private!

I cannot say enough great things about Daryle (DJ D-Mac). He knew exactly what to play and went strong all night, from bossa nova and jazz at our cocktail hour, to standards during dinner, and then hip hop, funk, and rock for the rest of the night. He has an incredibly extesive collection of music and he spins only portions of songs, so the dance floor was packed all night. We met with him well in advance because I had a specific idea of the music I wanted, and he helped us plan out all the right tunes. Daryle is not a "wedding" DJ in that he spins at bars, etc. around DC, so there is nothing cheesy about him. Our guests (of all ages) raved about how incredible the music was. I would hire Daryle again in a heartbeat.

We wanted to let you know how much we loved the music at the wedding. Everyone we've talked to had a great time, and every single guest keeps mentioning how great you were. We had so much fun that we spent practically all night on the dancefloor...which will probably be evidenced by some really sweaty and swampy pictures!
The cake cutting and first dances were great, and we particularly appreciated your deft handling of the impromptu nephews' dance routine. It was the perfect time to do it, the kids were really excited about it, and it made a lot of sense to break into that before opening up the floor. The whole night just flowed great, you had a good sense of who was on the dancefloor and kept it jumping with an eclectic set.
We also really enjoyed the dinner mix, it was perfect! Again, we got a lot of positive feedback on the dinner music.  Thank you for tracking down some of those tunes and for compiling the whole thing.
Thanks again for everything. You did an amazing job, and we can't imagine the music going over any better. You were very professional and dependable, you got a real sense of what we were looking for, and you delivered a totally unique and memorable night.

Our experience with DJ D-Mac was awesome. From the first meeting (at a bar near U Street he was spinning at), we knew his music taste and chill vibe were perfect for us. Working with him to develop our playlist and planning the logistics of the event couldn't have been easier or more pleasant. He was able to work effortlessly within the venue restrictions to make sure our catered dinner had music. But when the dancing started up was when he really shined. The music was a great mix of contemporary and older stuff (Jackson Five etc.) and it kept people dancing and having a great time all night. We're still getting comments on how fun the event was, and a huge part of that is due to Daryle.

DJ D-Mac provided the perfect soundtrack to a perfect evening.  He kept everyone dancing for 3 hours straight: everyone from my drunk friends, to my 3-year-old flower girl, to my older relatives. My mom said, "I knew I should be talking to family, but I could not stop dancing." His additions to our playlist were incredible, he reads the crowd and knows what will please them. He is professional, he listened to the vibe we wanted and delivered, and he provided an intangible quality to the evening that made the reception "cool" (as cheesy as that sounds). DJ D-Mac did a wonderful job at our 10/13/07 wedding!  My parents insisted on full music control (eek!) and Motown was the theme.  Not only did he play everything they wanted, he also managed to play our choices.  The dance floor was packed from the first dance.  He was diplomatic in his selections and made sure the beats flowed.  We highly recommend him for all types of events.  Your guests will always have a good time if he's the DJ.

We were thrilled to have Daryle as our wedding DJ in September. He made such an effort prior to the event to understand our preferences and the tone of the event, and to overcome the logistical challenges we faced at the venue. Above all, we wanted our guests to have fun and dance all night--Daryle read the crowd extremely well, and kept the dance floor full all night long. At the end of the night, after the planned last song, our guests were not ready to stop dancing and begged for one more--Daryle graciously played a few more songs to wrap up the evening. People (including our photographer!) are still telling us that they had never had that much fun at a wedding.

Quite simply, Daryle did an awesome job with the music at our wedding. He was great leading up to the wedding, both in terms of making himself available, as well as making sure everyone was on the same page about the type of music we wanted. He was great right before the wedding -- putting together a perfect mix of music for the cocktail hour, and working with us on announcements and (hard to find) music for the mother/son dance.  And, most important, he was great during the wedding. Daryle does a great job of picking music that gets people on the dance floor, keeps them on the dance floor, and makes sure they are excited and interested the whole time. It is obvious that Daryle loves music -- if you want that sentiment to be reflected in your wedding, we cannot imagine recommending anyone more highly.

We didn't care if the flowers or the outfits matched. We cared about the music. We lucked out with Daryle. He was professional when we needed him to be and funky all the time. He went through considerable trouble to attain a special cut just for us, and then rolled with it when I was no where to be found when it was time to play it. I would say that he was the best DJ we could've hoped for and if someone is lucky enough to get him for their wedding, I bet they will feel the same way. I remember reading testimonials from other happy couples about how their wedding guests kept telling them he was the best dj ever. We got that too. DJ D-mac is just gonna make the whole thing that much cooler.

I have heard  'Best DJ Ever!' more than a few times since our day.  It was apparent that  your mix was thoughtful and stayed in tune with the going vibe.  I  appreciated your defense of our music tastes when requests were inconsistent with our preferences.  Although we do not plan on having to get married  again, we are thinking of events where we can and will use your services.

Daryle and Neal really came through for us. Theyplayed the perfect balance of Jazz and Brazilianbackground music during dinner, then pulled out allthe stops and fired up the dance floor. We wantedsomething more than the typical wedding DJs, and theydelivered. Everybody was out dancing to a perfect mixof of Soul, Funk, Motown, Rock, and 80's classics. Wenever had to do YMCA or the Macarena (cheers to that).We ended up staying at the site an extra 2 hours, andwould have stayed longer if the caterers could havecleaned up around us. DJ D-Mac and his crew delivered all night long, and kept the National Building Museum grooving well past our scheduled wrap-time.
