Song of The Day: Lizzy Mercier Descloux “Hard-Boiled Babe”

Lizzy Mercier Descloux - Hard-Bolied Babe

Lizzy Mercier Descloux was a French musician, writer and painter active from the late 70’s to the late 90’s. She moved from Paris to New York in 1975 and very quickly joined the No-Wave scene, counting New York punk royalty Richard Hell and Patti Smith as friends and early artistic collaborators.

The slinky bass-driven groove of “Hard-Boiled Babe” was included on Press Color, her [sadly rare] 1979 album on ZE Records.
