Song of the Day: Judas Priest “Wild Nights, Hot & Crazy Days”

I found my cassette copy of Judas Priest‘s 1986 release Turbo while cleaning out a cabinet full of old VHS and cassette tapes. It instantly brought back memories of me buying it from Landover Mall, hurrying home to listen to it and being thoroughly disappointed by what I heard. It wasn’t as HEAVY as the Heavy Metal I was used to hearing from the band. It sounded a bit too commercial and slick.

Aside from “Turbo Lover”, the album’s first single, I did enjoy the song “Wild Nights, Hot & Crazy Days”. It went on to define my summer of ’86 in DC.
