Mark Hill, the main producer for UK Garage group, Artful Dodger, has been making a comeback under a newer moniker, Artful. It’s no surprise since the UK Garage sound has made a resurgance, thanks to the Lawrence brothers (Guy and Howard), better known as, Disclosure. The British balladeer and frequent Disclosure collaborator, Sam Smith has called upon Hill’s Garage expertise for a remix of Smith’s latest upcoming single, “Like I Can”. Hill’s signature sound is prevalent on this bouncy, vocal-chopping tune. Smith’s original is much slower complete with gospel-ridden hooks. Though Hill speeds up the track considerably, the theatrical dramatics fit perfectly within his signature style. Smith’s Like I Can EP, which also includes a remix from Jonas Rathsman, releases December 7, 2014. Check out Artful’s remix of “Like I Can” below.
